When does a new home start getting organized? We've been here since August. We still have a room filled with junk. I really hate it. I want it to just go away, along with all the papers that need to be shredded. I'm being overrun with paper. And on top of it, I can't find any camera batteries. I am the one who usually takes too many pictures at family functions but now I don't take the camera at all. Why? Because I can't find the batteries for it and I couldn't find the cord that hooks the camera to the computer for download. I wish there was a magic cleaning fairy that would come to the house.
I'm off for today and I know I will get the same old cleaning done around the house and not make any progress on the rooms that are filled with stuff. Ugh. I also want someone to come do yard work and rake up all the leaves. I raked leaves and got blisters on Sunday and then a thunderstorm came and undid what I had done. I really, really, really just want to pay someone to do this but Adam is adamant (ha!) that we not hire someone to do an "easy job."
I'm still waiting on the baby shower invitations. I have all the names and addresses now. Whoopee. Now on to finding a train shaped cookie cutter. . .
I love skyping with you. That is all.
ReplyDeleteMichael refused to get a lawn service for a really long time. It was so frustrating because I was like 'Get a lawn service or mow the lawn!' A few years later he finally gave in.
ReplyDeleteSo, if it is an "easy job" why then has Adam not done it??? John is the same way, he refuses to let us get a housekeeper or lawn service for something "we can do ourselves". This is how our house gets cleaned:
ReplyDeleteHouse is clean, within hours it is messy. Messy turns to dirty within a couple of days, we don't make time to clean up dirty and it gets even dirtier. A day or so later dirtier turns into down right nasty. Sharon gets fed up and yells at John to get off his a** and help me clean up! We spend a few hours working feverishly to clean up our nasty house and then it is clean again and all is well in the world. Within a few hours however there are barbies and baby dolls scattered everywhere, and we are back to messy again. It never ends, there is always something that needs cleaning!
Sharon is so full of crap that her eyes have turned brown and her breath smells like a sewer.
ReplyDeleteThat whole comment deserves a great big WHAT-THE-####-EVER!
;-)
I have lived in my house since 1979 and I still have a junk room!! Just saying..
ReplyDeleteOK in the spirit of full disclosure I have several junk rooms.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that the job you have expands to fill the time that you have and the junk you have expands to fill the space that you have.
I have been peeling my junk away layer by layer--sort of a "junk debridment" and now the high point of my week is trash day.
The house sounds lovely--might be time for another Mimi visit. Love you guys, Mimi
