I had a record five preggo vomits yesterday and over night. I was soooo dehydrated. I was up all night. I had to call in sick today. If I throw up in my hand one more time, I will scream. Sorry if that's TMI but it's what happens. I'm like a little spit up baby. haha.
I broke down and took phenergan around 4 AM and was able to sleep. I woke up so dry. Adam was up late with me so he called in to work, too. We had a nice day together. We had lunch and then he got a hair cut (much needed!). He hasn't shaved in about a week. I think I like it!
Then we went to Sears and finally got an oven ordered. We started out ordering the one we wanted but then found out that if we went with one different model, then we could get the oven and a new dishwasher for about the same price as the first one we wanted. SO. We got a new dishwasher!!!!! I am so excited! It will be here Saturday. The one we have now is functional but soooo old and leaves a lot of crap on the dishes. This doesn't work well for a husband who doesn't believe you should have to wash dishes before you put them in the washer. With his mom's washer he never had to. Well excuuuuse me! lol. Things are different here, sir!
Then we came home and I slept for a few more hours.
We're going to do another training program for Hans. He is part of the family now. We love him sooo much and he can be so sweet but the little things really grate on our nerves. I don't think the Petsmart class was very good. I really didn't like the instructor and Hans only learned to do the trick for a treat. He does sitting and laying down really well for Adam and we have a special leash so he never pulls us so that's good. We need him to listen more, though. He's our retarded adult child. He drools, he doesn't listen and pees where he's laying. lol. I don't mean that to offend anyone!! It's just the best reference we can come up with. He's so freaking big, it really is like having a child around. . . one that steps on your feet. ouch!

Oh right, I have a blog. . .
Ok so. I'll be positive with the first few things here. After that, you have to deal with my whining. And damn it. It's my unplanned pregnancy and I can complain if I want to!!!!
1. Breakfast is the easiest meal of the day for me. So many bland and wonderful things are in breakfast: cereal, toast, eggs, biscuits, sometimes gravy, tortillas, oatmeal . . Ahh, it's so good. I would have breakfast food all day if I could. It gets tricky at work, though. Lunch is sometimes skimpy for me which leads to me usually having lots of afternoon snacks.
2. I could eat my weight in fruit: pineapple, watermelon and bananas to be exact
3. At least your boobs get bigger during pregnancy. That's been nice. lol! For a girl that has never loved her boobs, I'm feeling pretty good right now. :-)
4. My clothes aren't fitting so I've bought some preggo clothes. I've had to get a whole new wardrobe. I'm still trying to fit into my scrubs, though. . . My XS, Tall urbane pants were working double time the other day. hahahaha. I can't wear those anymore. Whoops!
5. Had an appointment last week (my 12 week one). We just did a doppler and the HR was 140. I teared up for the first time. It was so good to hear that little heart. I do really love this baby. Oh and I got a prescription for protonix. God bless it.
6. I was feeling really good Friday and Saturday last week and I was getting all excited because I thought that meant the first trimester stuff was passing. Then, I threw up some salad on
Sunday. So salad is now on my naughty list along with orange juice. Oh how I loathe thee.
7. I've done most of my Christmas shopping. I have only my dad left to shop for. Thank goodness! It is so hard buying presents. I am absolutely stumped on Madi. I am returning what I got for her and going to get her a gift card to Toys R Us and then we can have a shopping date together. I think she would love that. I know that girl loves to shop.
8. I am so excited about the trampoline that Mimi is getting! I was telling people at work about it and I told them I would wait till after the baby and they all laughed. They think I'll just pee myself when I do. Come on kegals!
9. I love, love, love wrapping Christmas presents. Surprising, I know because my wrapping jobs are usually laugh worthy. BUT. I just love the paper and ribbon and the beauty. Why is it that I can make all my own wedding favors, cards and cards for my friend's baby shower but I can't wrap a present to save my life. There should be a class. I'm sure there is at hobby lobby or something.
10. Speaking of baby showers, I can't WAIT to have my own. It will be at my Nana's which I love even though it might get a little cramped. Oh the joy!
Oh side note. It's a weird coincidence that I have not thrown up in the toilet once. It has either been in the sink, the trash can, or the side of the road. ::sigh:: I'm at least laughing while I'm writing this and I think that's a good improvement. Maybe my spirits are indeed picking up.
I'll leave it there!

Preggo
Things I wish I had been told and will pass on to you:
1. Chew your food really well. You never know when you'll see it again
2. You have never known constipation until you are pregnant, on prenatals, and so nauseated you can't drink enough water.
3. Passing said constipation is a "glory, hallelujah" kind of moment. Enjoy
4. Buy post-its if you have a high stress job. Things just tend to slip your mind.
5. Heart burn is worse than nausea. . . worthy of chugging Pepto and chewing Tums like they're candy.
6. Some light cramping is normal in the first few weeks. This is the baby implanting.
7. There is such a thing as sublingual zofran
8. Sleep. All the time. There's no way around it. I fell asleep for over an hour in the middle of Great Wolf Lodge water park.
9. Food just tastes different. Apparently, you get new taste buds. . . idk, I just made that up. But no really. Even when a food sounds good and you get all excited, don't. Even cinnamon toast crunch is different.
I guess that's it for now. 9 weeks and counting. :-)

I just watched my wedding video. What a great day. The ceremony was so good. So "us." Lots of laughter, jokes, mess-ups, but really pretty and traditional, too. The reception was okay. It could have been better and more organized. I'm finally getting around to making a wedding book on snapfish. Adam and I didn't have Rebekah (our photographer) do one because it would have been an extra $50-100. Looking back now, it seems really stupid that we didn't. Another $50?? Sign me up! lol
I'm really, really, really wanting to go on vacation right now. I don't care where. I just want to get away with Adam. I don't even care if it's The Great Wolf Lodge! lol. Our company is getting discounts to that place, so that's why I say that. Anyone who knows me, knows that an indoor waterpark is an awesome idea to me. For a kid that always had her birthdays in January and it was always so cold to do anything outside. I envied the summer birthday kids.
Guess we'll see everyone this weekend. Bye!

Sweeeeeet!!
Alright, so I had had some baby fever going on but now it's totally gone! Well, the pressure to be is gone. Thanks to Annie and Michael deciding to have a third baby has completely set me at ease. No one's looking at me now to keep the fun going. A blessing in disguise. muhahaha
In different news, I had a patient unexpectedly die. I don't cry. . . . er to say I haven't cried for patients. This is the third one out of many that I have actually cried over, felt guilt, said prayers and apologized to this patient in Heaven. The first was for a patient I got too attached to at big baylor. He fought against the odds. He was my miracle patient. He made it to getting a heart transplant and then died a year later. He coded and died the day I was at the hospital but he was on a different floor. I knew he was there and I knew it was him. The girl who precepted me at that time came up to give me the news. I cried. The second patient I cried over was a 20 year old, pregnant girl (I say girl. She was way too young). She died and I went home and cried and cried. Three days later Adam proposed. I'll never forget that sequence of events. So this guy at the heart hospital is my third. It took me a week to cry about it. Ugh. ICU . . . especially cardiac icu. . . makes you distance yourself. It's really hard to grow a bond because you know deep down you shouldn't. . . .
Hmm. I've just now remembered that God is bigger than all of it. Why did I question if I should pray for my patients? Why did I think that medicine was bigger? Miracles happen. Thank you Candice for sharing your story about the boy in Lubbock with his appendix problems. That is clearly a miracle. I can't explain it. You can't explain it. Medicine can't explain it. . . . It's weird how you selectively think that God is in one situation and not another. You go into one patient's room and think, "wow, God is really working in this room, in this family." And then other rooms you walk into and you're thinking "what the crap? what the heck is going on? why can't I understand this?" ::Sigh:: I don't even know if I make sense right now but it's nice to type about.
Hmm. Guess that's it.

Blah
I'm tired of people not updating! Time to update your blogs!! Dust off ye old computer and blog. There I said it.
Not much going on around here. I've been off work for almost eight days. . . It's getting kind of ridiculous. I switched my schedule all around so I could be in San Antonio for Erin having her baby and work just forgot to put me back in the online scheduling thing. So I showed up on Tuesday ready to work and my name's not on the board. ::sigh:: So then I was going to work Friday and Saturday but now they also need help tomorrow, so badda bing, badda boom. Back to work tomorrow. :)
Erin had a gorgeous baby boy last Wednesday. :-D 8lbs, 9 oz. Which reminds me I need to send a check to Krissy. . . On my list of things to do!
Hans is sleeping right now which is amazing. He never sleeps during the day. He's always awake and barking at me from across the room. He barks REALLY loud when I get on the computer. lol. He's jealous! hee hee hee. He wants me to spend that time with him.
I went to burger king for breakfast this morning. I don't recommend it. The picture of the "croissanwich" looks 100x better than the actual end product they give you. Bleh.
I finished the Twilight series last week, the Tuesday before San Antonio. And then I read book one again and am halfway through book four. lol. Skip book two and three! lol They're just fillers. :-) Team Edward!! One thing I've wondered though. How can sex be so good with Edward if she always describes him as feeling like stone/hard as a statue? That doesn't sound so pleasant to me. I'm just sayin. . .
What else. We're back to riding almost every day again. It is pretty fun and these last few days have been just gorgeous! Great weather for riding. The sprint triathlon is in 11 days. ::GASP:: We'll see how it goes. :-) It's called the "Old College Tri" and so we're going to wear UTA t-shirts. I'm excited. Even if I have to walk the whole three miles, I'd really like to finish.
k. bye!

BCP's are on my side
Sing the title to the tune of "nationwide is on your side." lol. That's to answer Sharon's questions.
Hans is growing every day. He weighs 30 pounds and gaining. He's very smart, though! He can sit, lay, shake, and almost roll over to command. He can still annoy the heck out of me. He wants to be so close to us allll the time. It makes me feel bad b/c I know he just wants to feel apart of the family but he still wants to bite and jump up on you.
We got the bed fixed! It was a $10 part from Ikea and it's like brand new. Someone, who shall remain nameless, still wants to put bricks under it. hee hee hee. :)
Not much going on. I worked five days last week. They weren't full shifts but still. Nothing got done this week. This house is not clean. We have no milk, eggs, bread, or anything. Today is Adam and I's day to get things done but we're both so tired. There was an advertisement on the door this morning for a cleaning service. I think we're going to use it. ::fingers crossed::
I have 100 pages left for the last book of the Twilight series. Yes, I started only reading a week and half ago. . . . Don't judge me! lol

Twilight
Ok, fine, so I'm addicted. Let me be clear. (Obama style) I am addicted to Bella and Edward's romance. I think that's the only good thing this author writes. All other conversations, relationships, are severely lacking. It bugs me the way she uses the same word over and over to describe a feeling. It's like "inconceivable" on Princess Bride but not in a funny way. I don't know if I want to read further, though. Why mess up a nice, warm fuzzy feeling that their relationship gives you?
In other news, Adam and I are going to San Antonio tomorrow! I get to see my very pregnant Poo who will be having this baby on Saturday. . . or else I'm out $20. :-( There's a guy at work named Clent. Yes, with an "e" instead of the "i." So now that's how I want to type the name. Dang it! And also something to be irked by: the "S" key on the keyboard is stiff and hard to push now. What the heck? Why just that key? It's very annoying. Oh and my husband would rather by a new laptop than a new bed. Our ikea bed officially broke last night. It's ridiculous. We just need to get a new frame. I'm just sayin. He wants to put bricks under it to keep it steady and lasting longer. Pssh.
In puppy news, Hans is a really annoying dog. But then he also has his moments where I just want to love him and hug him and never let go. . . that is until he scrapes or bites me. ::sigh:: This has been the topic of many a Hedgpeth conversation because if we have a kid and we don't like it, we can't give it back. Dilema. Go ahead and laugh everyone. I know you are anyway.
Off to run errands. Sorry it took so long to post.

Eh
Well we had a nice 4th of July weekend. We brought home Hans on Thursday. He is precious. He's going to be a good puppy. He's already gained 3 pounds in one week. He's taller and you can definitely tell when we "hold him like a baby." First round of shots today. :-(
The lawnmower bit it. We had to buy a new one. Home ownership is constantly something needing to be replaced or bought.
We did not run the triathlon. Everything was loaded up, bikes on the car, swim gear packed.. . . 4 AM rolled around and I had totally psyched myself out on the biking part of the race. I told Adam, "let's just sleep in." He rolled over and agreed. lol. Becca, the physical therapist, wasn't happy with me. She was already trying to get me to sign up for a duathlon on the 24th. No thanks! Adam and I are going to go at our own pace. We biked 6 miles Sunday night and about 4 miles Monday night. We'll get there.
Nothing else going on! I'm pretty sure all of you have access to facebook so you can go see our 4th of July weekend festivity pictures!

Holy Moly
I had two moles removed in the office last week. The doctor was awesome. I would recommend her. Dr. Singer in Dallas. As I was laying on my right side, having the mole under my left breast removed, I said in my "poo voice:" Bye moles! The doctor replied in a sort of make-shift "poo voice:" They say 'thanks for the ride!' lol. We bonded. Both moles are benign but they still freaking hurt. It's not so bad having them removed. It's a little lidocaine, scrape, scrape, scrape and sauder with the bovi but dang. The after affects are worse. lol. My poor heart patients that have to recover from having their chests cracked. I'm complaining about some little cigarette burn looking wounds. Pssh.
So I thought I'd turn over a new leaf this past Friday. I went down for breakfast at work and got oatmeal and used splenda and just a bit of butter and I took the stairs back up to the second floor. . . . by lunch, I had a chili cheese dog in hand and took the elevator. . . . LOL. I tried.
Will try again tomorrow. I bought some frozen healthy dinner things that I'll take to work.
The triathlon is this Sunday. Adam and I are still teetering, wavering, oscillating! on it. I could just work that day and make up the difference in what we paid to do the race. That's the only way it will make sense to not go. I just don't like not being good at something. It really bugs me. If I can't do it best or at 100% then why do it? I don't like looking stupid. Plus it's July in Texas. Am I really going to risk heat stroke for a race?? Ugh. We'll see.

It comes in threes
Our vacuum needed a new part and had to be serviced. Then, on Sunday our mower decided to stop working after a quick pass over the front yard. So now our yard looks a little retarded (LOL) but I'm having the crew of guys that does everyone elses' yards, do ours today. So I took the mower in to be serviced. It will be back in "seven to ten days." Are you kidding?? I have St. Augustine grass, people! It grows like it's on crack. Oh well. Then! Oh then. lol. I'm laughing just thinking about typing this. Adam got soaker hoses to put around the house and soak the foundation. A great idea! Except that we left it on for three or so hours and our faucets are very leaky. Front yard and back yard are swamps. So I had to have the plumber come over yesterday to fix that. I'm feeling like a homeowner that's for sure!
Revelation yesterday while driving: Very simply, you can choose two paths in life. One, follow God with all your heart, pray with anticipation and believe that the Bible is God breathed and sharper than a double edged sword. Two, you can live a life without God (b/c you were given this option through free will) and live believing in coincidence and chance. You have that option but you're alone. I'd rather not be alone. So I'm done trying to question God for now. I want to be on His side. He has been good and faithful to me. I should be good and faithful to Him. Let's pray that that sticks. :-)
I'm going to my appointment today for my lovely moles. I'll update you guys later!

Rough days
I think there's a black cloud following me around. Last week I made my first medication error that didn't result in any harm but still very embarrassing. I got into a man vs. car collision on Sunday that yes, I will tell you more about in person but I don't want to write about it on here. I'm fine.
Then I woke up this morning sick and I already took a sick day a few weeks ago which. . . I have more sick time to take, I just hate not being dependable.
Made a fool of myself AGAIN at Michael and Annie's by putting down two lies and a truth for the game "two truths and a lie." lol!
AND I've lost 8 games in a row on yahoo spades. ;-) That totally tops it off. lol.
Silver linings: 1. I got a five star spirit award last week at my hospital for a letter that someone wrote in for me saying I was a good nurse. 2. I have a wonderful husband who is my knight in shining armor! I love him so much!

"I had a bibopsy. . . yes, it was my twin. . . "
So I have four moles (I HATE the word "mole") that are going to be removed and bibopsied! (lol) I love that movie. I've had them for years so I'm not worried. It's kind of exciting (?). I've never had anything wrong. I almost like the attention (???). I'm very messed up. :-)
Today is a gorgeous day outside and I got to eat lunch with my husband outside and it was so nice. :) We had a lot to talk about and the time went by so fast so now I'm at home waiting for him so we can watch American Idol.
I've been working a lot lately. I worked Sunday at BUMC, yesterday an extra shift at Plano, W, TH, FR this week at Plano and then again at BUMC on Sunday. I cannot wait for the vacation!! I'm going to keep low after that. Maybe even call in a few days sick when I'm not sick! :-) June is a busy month, as well. Michael's party, Samuel's party, Erin in town for P3's party, Destin, baby shower. . . and somehow I was elected Secretary to our hospital's chapter of AACN. I wasn't even at the meeting!!! lol. Oh well. Things like that just happen sometimes. I think I'll like it. I've wanted to be involved with this hospital and I think I am making some improvements there regarding balloon pump maintenance, tube feed protocol, end of life care. It's exciting being at a new hospital and they love hearing your experiences and how you do things a certain way. I'm really throwing myself into this b/c I think this will be my home for the next several years so I might as well influence nursing practice while I can!
I'm really hoping my good friend Candiso will come home at the end of June!! (::hint,hint::) Adam and I want to go shooting with her. Ooh! Maybe a trip to Hamilton to shoot the tommy gun? We shall see. :)
I guess that's it for now. Ooh, ooh! I did find a camera with a battery in it! Now just to find the chord that connects the camera to the computer. So long!

I'm nursing, right?!!?!
A while back, Adam decided he wanted to do Weight Watchers. I didn't qualify to participate but I did in my own way to support Adam. I looked at the handout they gave and it said "nursing- add 8 points." "Amazing!" I thought. I'm on my feet all day as a nurse, so this totally makes sense!
Today I found out that I'm terribly, terribly blonde. "Nursing" meant you were breast feeding. How was I to know??? This made for a very big laugh at the Mother's Day dinner tonight with the Hedgpeths. :-D LOL
I was also going to write something about the gay marriage debate but I don't want to detract from the hilarity of this story. So I leave you with the thought that not only did I mistake nursing meaning my occupation, I totally didn't even think about oil rig workers or those who do heavy duty lifting making the WW list. . . . only nurses got the distinction. ::halo::

No gardening bliss for me
When we got our house, I planted some flowers in the front flower bed. They were bright green and hot pink and I loved them. It was a good experience. They died over the winter which was expected. I was excited for the weather to get nice again so I could plant more. I planted probably three weeks ago some yellow and red flowers. Thanks to Texas weather and the torrential downpours we've had, the yellow flowers are completely washed off the stem. I have just stems and roots left. The red ones held up. Sadness. Do I plant again? Do I put my heart out on the line again only to have the feelings washed away?!?!? (lol) ::sigh:: I guess we'll just wait and see. . . I do have about $10 left on a home depot gift card. . .
On another plant note, we have two house plants in the living room. One has very large palm like leaves. The ones at the bottom are dying and I don't know why. The ones that stand tall are fine. Am I not watering enough? I water every two days or so. Thoughts? Musings?
On a decorating note, I am finally feeling a little complete with the living room!! I was at Michaels one day looking for a sacred train cookie cutter (hee hee) and didn't find one but saw that Kirklands was having a sale next door so I went in. I usually don't shop there b/c it's overpriced sometimes. I found the best art for the mantel and it was $40!! It's a 36" x 36" with colors that match the room and three red poppies in the middle which I was wanting something with poppies!! Yaaaay. It made me very happy. And then made even more happy that Adam liked it when he got home. :-) Sometimes we have different taste but he's liked everything else I've gotten so far. Sweet.
Having lunch with Shelley today. Cleaning otherwise. So long for now. :)
Oh Oh! I forgot to post this. Adam told me to. lol. So Adam and I don't agree on names that often. No we're not pregnant and we won't be for a while but we still talk about names. I like "Evie, Joy, Jill, Ruth" and some others for girls. He likes "Raven" for a girl. We're obviously not on the same page!! haha. :)
So we were driving the other night and he goes "I like Maggie." Me: "I like Maggie too!!" So we're posting it here so no one steals the one name we've agreed on. :-)

Lazy Sunday
So I woke up this morning and I have a random thought: I'm not mad at my mom. I can't be mad at her for the way I was raised. . . I was built a tree house, I was cared for, I had clothes. I didn't get paid a ton of attention but that's not to much to complain about. Now, granted, advance ten years and the story changes but I'm somehow at peace with the fact that I am not mad at the way I was raised. Glory be.
Texas weather decided to pee on my weekend. We were supposed to go to Scarborough Faire with the girls, but the plan got rained out. I'm hoping next weekend will be better. Maybe Annie and Michael want to go? Eh? Eh? Any takers?
I ran out of invitations quickly for Erin's shower. That girl knows a lot of people! But I don't care. It just means more presents for her and I'm totally okay with that!!! :)
Currently I am watching the Mavs get stomped on. Booo. Courtney out.
Oooh wait, wait! Two more things:
1. Destin is in a month!!!!
2. I just sent my resignation to Baylor downtown and happy with the move!

The one who takes pictures
When does a new home start getting organized? We've been here since August. We still have a room filled with junk. I really hate it. I want it to just go away, along with all the papers that need to be shredded. I'm being overrun with paper. And on top of it, I can't find any camera batteries. I am the one who usually takes too many pictures at family functions but now I don't take the camera at all. Why? Because I can't find the batteries for it and I couldn't find the cord that hooks the camera to the computer for download. I wish there was a magic cleaning fairy that would come to the house.
I'm off for today and I know I will get the same old cleaning done around the house and not make any progress on the rooms that are filled with stuff. Ugh. I also want someone to come do yard work and rake up all the leaves. I raked leaves and got blisters on Sunday and then a thunderstorm came and undid what I had done. I really, really, really just want to pay someone to do this but Adam is adamant (ha!) that we not hire someone to do an "easy job."
I'm still waiting on the baby shower invitations. I have all the names and addresses now. Whoopee. Now on to finding a train shaped cookie cutter. . .

Hello!
So I've been thinking that I'm tired of reading other people's blogs and having things to say. :)
The "everything to everyone" is not meant to be a negative. . . more of a lifestyle (?) I like pleasing people but I see it as serving people, too. . . It was also just the first thing that popped into my head. :)
So what to write about?
My mind (for today) has been consumed with planning my best friend's baby shower in June. It's a lot of work! I'm sure it will be just fine. . . I know I'm thinking about it too much. The invitations should arrive any day now. I'm so glad I decided to order them instead of hand-making them. I did that with the wedding programs and Erin's wedding shower invitations and I just forgot how much goes into it. Much easier to just order them.
I'm still working on getting the living room decorated. It's all painted and looks very mature. Adam and I are really pleased with it. I finally hung up the cool wall decor that Sharon got me for Christmas. lol. I'm working on getting up a picture collage for a separate wall. I got an 11 x 14 of a wedding portrait that has all the guests and family in it. Kind of like what Annie has in her dining room.
Sunday, Adam and I are embarking on a great journey: taking Madie and Grace to Scarborough Faire. I'm hoping we come home with all limbs . . . and a few good pictures. :)
That's all I have to post for now! Will write soon. :)
