No gardening bliss for me

When we got our house, I planted some flowers in the front flower bed. They were bright green and hot pink and I loved them. It was a good experience. They died over the winter which was expected. I was excited for the weather to get nice again so I could plant more. I planted probably three weeks ago some yellow and red flowers. Thanks to Texas weather and the torrential downpours we've had, the yellow flowers are completely washed off the stem. I have just stems and roots left. The red ones held up. Sadness. Do I plant again? Do I put my heart out on the line again only to have the feelings washed away?!?!? (lol) ::sigh:: I guess we'll just wait and see. . . I do have about $10 left on a home depot gift card. . .

On another plant note, we have two house plants in the living room. One has very large palm like leaves. The ones at the bottom are dying and I don't know why. The ones that stand tall are fine. Am I not watering enough? I water every two days or so. Thoughts? Musings?

On a decorating note, I am finally feeling a little complete with the living room!! I was at Michaels one day looking for a sacred train cookie cutter (hee hee) and didn't find one but saw that Kirklands was having a sale next door so I went in. I usually don't shop there b/c it's overpriced sometimes. I found the best art for the mantel and it was $40!! It's a 36" x 36" with colors that match the room and three red poppies in the middle which I was wanting something with poppies!! Yaaaay. It made me very happy. And then made even more happy that Adam liked it when he got home. :-) Sometimes we have different taste but he's liked everything else I've gotten so far. Sweet.

Having lunch with Shelley today. Cleaning otherwise. So long for now. :)

Oh Oh! I forgot to post this. Adam told me to. lol. So Adam and I don't agree on names that often. No we're not pregnant and we won't be for a while but we still talk about names. I like "Evie, Joy, Jill, Ruth" and some others for girls. He likes "Raven" for a girl. We're obviously not on the same page!! haha. :)

So we were driving the other night and he goes "I like Maggie." Me: "I like Maggie too!!" So we're posting it here so no one steals the one name we've agreed on. :-)

  1. sometimes you just have to pull off leaves once they die... I know ivy is like that so maybe the palm is too?

I'm so jealous your husband lets you decorate with flowers. lol

  2. I honestly had to stop and wonder where my sacred train cookie cover was. Was it in my dining room? The kitchen? Then I realized...oh...

  4. I don't know about "Raven" and what I'm about to say may ruin it forever...it sounds like a stripper name. Yikes...I said it! I tainted "Raven" forever. Sorry Adam. If its a boy I think it should be named something strong and noble. What about "John"? (or is that too gay?)

  5. Okay, my thoughts...

Raven. NO. Makes me think of that actress that was on the show "that's so Raven" or something like that.

Evie. Kinda cute, but reminds me of EVVVAAAAA from Wall-E. I would have to say that non stop if you ever had a girl and named her that...

And Maggie. Hm. That was the name of an ex-boyfriends beloved white subaru wagon. I would then be reminded of that said subaru every time I saw your daughter.

SHOOT. Just let me name your child if you have one. Then, I will make sure there will be no bad memories. haha.

Post pictures when you decorate! sheeeeesh.
