What to listen to

I've been wondering lately what the best thing to listen to in the car is. Even light rock/mix stations have songs that are crude or dirty, i.e. any Katy Perry song. I care. Even now, when Emma sorta doesn't know but sorta does know what's going on around her and what she hears, I care about what she's listening to. I didn't use to care. Growing up, we listened to really awful songs! "1-2-3-4, Get your woman on the floor" was a hit while I was a kid. Why was I listening to that?? Why did I sing along?? Where were my parents?? lol! It may be even different for boys and girls. Personally, I want my little girl to be as pure and innocent for as long as possible. Is that asking too much? Do parents of boys feel differently? Ponder. Some country music songs allude to sex or partying, especially "new" country. I love classical music but half the fun is knowing what you're listening to. It gets pretty dang boring, otherwise. There's the Christian station but even then, some of those songs get pretty dang cheesy. And I just can't listen to cheese after cheese after cheese. So what do we listen to? The sounds of silence? :-) Rubber ducky you're the one, ee-er, ee-er? :-) It's so hard to know! I guess I'll just flip through all of the stated above until I find something good. And if nothing's on, then we get to listen to Emma push her little music box for the ump-teenth time. ::sigh::

  1. Do you think it might be worth it to get some type of satellite radio? Maybe they have more options, like the coffee house type stations. I know what you mean! My friend, who has a 5 year old, 3 year old and 7 mo old had this post on fb recently:

Dominic: "Mommy, what's 'Riding solo'?" Cecily: "..it means having sleepovers" D'OH! Not how I would've answered, but strangely, I think she's somehow right....definitely time to change the radio station!

Haha. It'll be hard to find something decent for you and the kids to enjoy! Good luck!
